Day 44 of Gratitude

13th February 2017

Day 44 of 70 in my 10 week / 70 days of Gratitude: There is always something to be grateful for!

I am grateful for Al Jarreau, you were an amazing music influence in my life, and music is my life so you have played a vital role. REST IN PEACE AL JARREAU, you will always be remembered!

I sang Roof Garden, one of his songs, in The Australian National University (ANU) Commerical Ensemble, which was a great chart to sing and scat over. We had a full horn line and it was an amazing group of people to work with (however as we know now the Bachelor of Music in Jazz has been discontinued but let's not dwell on that). Roof Garden was a wonderful happy fun song to perform with the full band and I can say I am grateful I was able to have all the opportunities that led to that occuring including that Al Jarreau came into my life in the form of his music.

I was listening to your music most of yesterday while doing other things around the house and while on the computer. You had a very unique style!

I am grateful for a friend of mine, Graham Wilson, who was performing a set at Inferno (formally known as Gigis) yesterday as he is just getting back into performing after having a Brain Tumor removed. I am grateful to Dr Charlie Teo who removed the tumor (while listening to The Four Kinsmen). It was lovely to see him performing again and it was lovely to catch up with him.

I am grateful for the beautiful warm water at Towradgi 50mtr Rock Pool. I only swam 10 laps (500mts) as we had to be back by a certain time but it was still well worth it and was beautiful to ease the 38oC temperature outside not to mention the what seemed like almost 100% humidity. It remained very humid most of the night and the lowest temperature it got to was 28oC.

Random Fact for the day also is a picture below that describes why this pool was built and NOTE: the pictures are not mine, from the internet as I don't bring my phone to the beach.

I am grateful for this beautiful cup/teapot placemat, it is really cute and it is blue. It is  made by African women in a community where most of the profits go back to them to help them to survive and therefore is fairtrade. It is also very good environmentally as it is made out of old phone wires that would have otherwise been thrown out in the rubbish.

I was very grateful for my feet and shoes for getting me around all day yesterday despite my legs being really sore. I am grateful for the day out in Sydney with Greg when we saw our first Sydney Theatre Company Production of the year; the Testament of According to Mary. The production was a one woman play about Mary mother of Jesus and her take on the whole situation of her son"s death. Lots of lines, Alison Whyte was starring in it and she did really well. On the way there we walked from Goulburn Street Car Park all the way there and really I hadn"t been feeling the best so my fitness was waning so we decided not to walk all the way back. We did however have a look at some shops and market stalls.

The next few days will be of things I am grateful for from today.

I am grateful for my ability to not take life too seriously and that I love playing with my food even though you are usually told as a child to do the opposite. So if there is one thing that we all should do is not take life too seriously and grab life by the throat and say let's go.

Day 21 of Gratitude

21st January 2017

Day 21 of 70 in my 10 week / 70 days of Gratitude: There is always something to be grateful for!

I had another blow to the ego and also a shock to the system which happened on Wednesday evening and then something that happened on Thursday also and continued on really on Friday and a bit today. Anyhow, an accident happened which has made me realise yet again that I am not invincible which sometimes I think I am and it is a wake up call to also be healthy and fighting fit and to keep mental toughness throughout each day and fight through the challenges that I face in my life. So in a round-a-bout way I am grateful for my resilience and inner strength that I don't even seem to know that I have at times of great need that makes me such a fighter, like the train that said "I can do it" in an old kids show. I think that everyone needs to have that inner belief that no matter what they can succeed and keep going until they do.

I am grateful for my Nanny Shepheard's lounge and lounge chairs, we still have them and I will always keep them. They were old and she got new vinyl covering on them so they looked brand new and I keep them vacuumed and wiped over (as they are outside) and they are very nice to sit on and relax. They also hold such memories close and dear to my heart from when my nan and I used to lie side by side on the lounge at her place and watch tv (usually tennis which to this day I still don't understand) and she would say I was a "cheeky divil" (devil) (with her English accent) for sitting next to her and then we would laugh about it.

I have had it for awhile now but I didn't realise how easy it would be to get the sim changed over and so wanted to make sure my old phone (which still works without a working sim in it) was backed up. I am grateful for EMDR Treatment that I have received in the past and in the present. I'm grateful for air conditioners on hot days like it was today (especially the old ones like the one in my bedroom as they work better than the new ones). It was so humid and so hot at 38oC and when you have ducted air cons in the front of the house which take all the hot air out of the hall and put cool air into the 3 rooms in the front and then an air con in the lounge room and then one in my bedroom which is frequently on all day and most of the night in this kind of weather it makes me grateful. I am grateful for growing up with land around me in my mum's house she bought a few years before I came around and then moving house now to a similar size backyard, completely detached houses, lots of garden, worm farm, veggie patch, fruit trees, herb garden, flowers, bees and birds literally coming in all the time and the dogs being able to wander around. Many people elsewhere don't have access to a house let-or-loan a big backyard so I feel grateful for this as I have in the past lived in College and by myself in an apartment and it can feel very restrictive in many ways. I definitely want to have houses around the world some day and gardens at each of these dream homes but for now I am grateful for what I have.

I am grateful for our rainwater tank and pump. I am grateful that I can drink all the water I want and use it in cooking and food preparation so that I am using very minimal tap water. I had very bad effects due to the fluoride in tap water and that has since cleared up and is continuing to improve since eliminating for the most part tap water. I am just as grateful for the pump because it is what allows me to access the water without having to manually pump the water out or wait for ages for the water, instead it just pours out as hard as you have the tap on.

I am also grateful that I washed my car and got to use the big water gun rod thingy to clean my car while visualising someone I don't like as if it were a show down so to speak. Day 6 of 70 in my 10 week / 70 days of Gratitude: There is always something to be grateful for!

I am grateful for my ability to cook and prepare food. Whether it is raw or cooked, vegan, vegetarian or omnivore I have always been able to whip up a storm and I have always been proud of that skill but also it always made me happy being in the kitchen (when I was doing awesome meals that I could either enjoy myself or watch others enjoy) and also I was able to listen to music or watch tv on my laptop while doing so. After all my issues came around and I started to lose all motivation with everything and life was getting me down, I was like a robot and all the things I loved to do I simply avoided where possible and this was one of them. Other than doing the basic cooking for the dogs and myself I was hard pressed to be creative in the kitchen.

Well I am glad that I am gradually getting my grip on life back and am grateful for my kitchen delights.

She is very talketive if you are say trying to comb her or pull mats out of her hair or if you want her to do something and she doesn't, she will let you know about it and very loudly at that. I am grateful for Little Jimmy (as we call him these days), the little (75Kg) boy, he is very talketive and tells you specific things like when he wants a walk, food, milk, etc. He understands sentence structure rather than just words and is very intelligent. when you ask him a question he answers with a response rather than just listening to key words like most dogs. If I was to say do you want one of the following; walk, milk, biscuits and tell him before hand that he can only answer one then he does. Very funny boy. I am grateful for all he has taught me, all the joy he has brought me and the love and caring and protective nature he gives to me. If we are walking by ourselves he is my protector and if I say that word he actually puts his head up and starts surveying the area for people to protect me from. He is 8 years old now, 9 in August, so he is not a baby anymore and even though we don't know how long he has left, I will love him forever. He is a true friend!

I am grateful for Little Lucy who has taught me how to be more patient. I am also grateful regarding her that I met Bridget her mum, who was a gorgeous little old lady who loved the big dogs and that was how we became friends. She asked me off the cuff one day that if she died she was addiment that she wanted me to take Lucy and wanted me to promise to do so. I did say yes but also said that I thought Bridget would be around a long time. Well just like everything, this strong wild woman was going to prove me wrong and when I came back to Australia and was working at Corrimal High I found out that she had moved to Bellambi and went to visit her to bring her some photos I had taken previously but she was not there and Lucy was inside barking. One of her neighbours had the keys and let us take Lucy as he was planning on calling the RSPCA because he didn't know who to call to mind her (lucky she didn't go there otherwise she wouldn't be with us today or with me). Anyhow so I took Lucy and then kept calling wollongong hospital to find out what was going on as Bridget had had a heart attack. They had convinced her that having bypass surgery at 83 was a bit risky and not to do it but that she would eventually have more heart attacks due to the blockages (to which I questioned the doctor about but he was really not wanting to deal with that issue). Anyhow while she was in the hospital I called the head nursing sister and asked if Lucy could visit Bridget and she said yes but in the corridor only. So Greg, Mum and I went to Wollongong Hospital and I carried her up in the lift and then as we got out of the lift on her level and called the nurse's attention and she came out to greet us. Everyone had heard so much about Lucy as it was all Bridget talked about, her pride and joy, her little girl. As we were talking the two security guards came over to say no dogs allowed and she told them off and then poked her tongue out at them when they walked off, it was pretty funny seeing a head nurse do that. Anyhow she called Bridget over and got her a chair and as soon as I put Lucy into Bridget's lap they were as one. They melted into each others arms and were so happy. Soon after that, Bridget died and I kept Lucy and went to the funeral. I had no idea that she had a sister who was very old and even shorter than her living in northern sydney in a nursing home. She had no human children or husband it was just her and Lucy against the world. It took a long time for Lucy to stop waiting for Bridget (as I think she was there in spirit talking to Lucy), and was not until Fuzzy died that Lucy let herself become my dog. It was 2 years of having her with me before we truly both felt the bond. I will always say that she is my little lady but that Bridget will always be her mum. I will always be grateful for knowing Bridget because she was a true friend and am grateful that Lucy often reminds me of her.

To Change My Life 70 Days / 10 Weeks and Create Lasting Habits and Rituals, Annaliesa Rose

To Change My Life 70 Days / 10 Weeks and Create Lasting Habits and Rituals

1st January 2017

I have a list of 70 tasks (some recurring, some once off) to be completed in 70 days in order to make a profound shift in my body/mind/spirit and make a positive start to 2017!

I have a list of 70 tasks that I will do throughout these next 70 days and although I won't disclose the whole list it starts with going on a really healthy diet and many other detox protocols in order to become much healthier and detoxified.

One of the tasks on my list is to have photo and words for one thing that I am grateful for, for each day over the 10 weeks. That is 70 days of gratitude. I will post this up every day so stay tuned.

I also aim to be doing a lot more performance work especially YouTube so stay tuned for that also.

I hope that you all have had a wonderful beginning to the New Year and that 2017 is going to be a fantabulous year for you all

Peace, Love & Hugs

Lerida Winery on Sunday, Annaliesa Rose

Lerida Winery on Sunday

29th February 2016

Sally Greenaway and myself had a wonderful gig on the weekend.

On Sunday the 28th Feb 2016 The Annaliesa and Sally Duo, feat. myself on vocals and Sally Greenaway on keyboard performed from 12:30pm to 3pm at Lerida Winery in Collector.

It was a lovely day, and we were outside but it was mostly covered, however I still managed to get sunburnt unfortunately, but that is a lesson for next time to cover up a bit more, haha.

Unfortunately my partner was only able to record a couple of songs as my phone was nearly full, whoops, I will be backing up and deleting stuff soon let me assure you.

I have the following tracks on YouTube available to see:

Isn't She Lovely (Stevie Wonder)

Sorry it isn't the whole song but they were moving Greg around who was filming as they needed to seat people at tables. But it is still good to share this even though it isn't the whole track.

https://youtu.be/NlCBc4rkvDM

Chemical Blues written by myself (Annaliesa Rose)

This song is about everything from mental illness to hormonal imbalances and how I feel from time to time.

https://youtu.be/3BH4kYJ_kBA

Smile

This is a great song by Charlie Chaplin about what to do when you don't feel happy which is to smile. It is inspired by the Jacky Terrasson version in 5/4 time but is an arrangement by Sally Greenaway.

Easter Sunday Gospel Service

This year we had our annual Easter Sunday Gospel Service at the Wesley United Church, Wollongong. It was a lovely morning service, bringing lots of people that don't go to church normally including myself. It ends up being about the Music and why shouldn't be celebrate music?

Anyhow, it went well and I had the songs recorded that I performed, so please take time to have a look at them, like and comment on them and subscribe to my channel if you have not yet done so.

Here's a Thought... with Charles Shaughnessy, Annaliesa Rose

Here's a Thought... with Charles Shaughnessy

12th February 2015

I recently supported a Kickstarter project for Charles Shaughnessy (as I was and still am a big fan of The Nanny). Today was the show that my music was advertised throughout the show.

I'm so grateful for this, I think the show's concept is rather interesting, "here's a thought" and the fact that we are "thoughters" as opposed to thinkers. It's a great show and I'm glad to be a part of it. A big thankyou to all those involved including Charles Shaughnessy, Janne Nordvang, Janelle Glickman and all those who watch the show.

To see the show here

Featuring the artwork by Jane Nordvang who always does such a fabulous job.

Thanks again!

Silver Bells

http://youtu.be/vd6FJvajmrY

This video is dedicated to all those who were involved in the terrible siege in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia yesterday who at 2pm this morning were rescued after 2 of them were shot and subsequently died. The gunman was killed also, and he was no stranger to the law system. I would like to dedicate this song to all those involved and try to give some hope and happiness to them, I couldn't imagine what they are going through.

This was performed at The Australian National University (Canberra School of Music) at one of my Concerts I had to perform for my BMus in 2005. We have Sally Greenaway on Piano, Niels Rosendahl on Saxophone, Gareth Hill on Bass, Phoebe on drums. This is a song I learnt from Kerrie Biddell and I have never heard anyone else ever sing this. It is a brilliant song and I am so grateful that she shared that song with me.

Styles in the Studio (2005) (ANU Canberra School of Music) with Niven Stines and Eric C. Ajaye

2nd December 2014

I have many audio clips of my singing and performing and thought I would share them with the world on YouTube through adding a still to each of them.

As I was doing my BMus (2004-2007) in Canberra (ANU) we had a subject of session recording and we did the following tracks in 2005:

1. Desperado

2. Save the Best for Last

3. Sailing

4. Let's Face the Music & Dance

5. Body & Soul

Feat. Sally Greenaway on keys, Sam Young on Drums and Leigh Miller on Bass.

Old Audio Clips on YouTube with Stills

2nd December 2014

I have many audio clips of my singing and performing and thought I would share them with the world on YouTube through adding a still to each of them.

1. Holding You Close To Me (by Stuart Robertson)

This was recorded in 2001 after I had done my drama performances for the HSC and I was so tired but it was a composition for a fellow student so I recorded this and also had never heard it before so I was sight singing.

2. You Don't Bring Me Flowers (2002) (feat. Richard T. Jordan)

Duet with Richard T Jordan a Neil Diamond impersonator - It was actually an audition and since I couldn't sing or talk the night before due to Laryngitis and didn't know who Neil Diamond was until educated on him when my parents bought me his best of and I memorised this song over night while just listening to it as I had no voice, so it is a bit scratchy and rough because it was just a rehearsal track. So be nice as it was unrehearsed and my voice was not at it's best.

3. Shadowing You (2004) (Johnny Mercer & Blossom Dearie)

This was one of my songs from my first concert in my Bachelor of Music at the ANU Canberra School of Music. This song was given to be my the late Kerrie Biddell when I was learning from her and I loved this song as it was very jazzy but also had excellent lyrics as a lot of the songs I received from Kerrie to learn.

4. Everything I've Got Belongs to You (2004) (Rogers & Hart)

This Blossom Dearie tune was one of my songs from my first concert in my Bachelor of Music at the ANU Canberra School of Music from the same concert as Shadowing You. The arrangement of this was written by Jenna Cave a composer and arranger in her own right. This too was a song given to be my Kerrie and the lyrics are brilliant!

Old Audio Clips on YouTube with Stills

1st December 2014

I have many audio clips of my singing and performing and thought I would share them with the world on YouTube through adding a still to each of them.

This first batch of audio clips uploaded to YouTube are from when I did my first DEMO Cassette Tape (going back a bit) in 1999.
I performed the following songs:

1. Colors of the Wind (music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz)

2. It Had to be You (music by Isham Jones, lyrics by Gus Kahn)

3. Love Is In The Air (1999) (by George Young & Harry Vanda)

4. Love Is (a song composed by Kerry Van Der Linden my mum's best friend and a brilliant composer and arranger) - This song I had never heard before and so I had to sight sing it and eventually after a few takes got it how I wanted it to sound for the recording.

I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed recording them back in 1999 when I was 15 (just before my 16th birthday). My voice has developed a lot since then but it is always good to look back and see how far you have come.

Jingle Bell Rock! Feat. Marjorie Shepheard (my mum) on our mini grand piano.

http://youtu.be/Cb9gOEqqxXY

I have decided as you may know to do 25 videos in 25 days and although they may not all be recorded on the day (some will be recorded in advance) they are all going to inspire the christmas spirit in this world where we too often are thinking about the wars, famine, and other troubles in the world. We need to think about the joy and happiness and try to give to others what we wish to receive.
Wheather you believe in Jesus or not, think of what that stands for, the metaphor is rebirth, renewal, almost renassance and therefore in order to live a full and happy life we need to have a renewal in every part of our being in order to do improve.

I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I enjoy making them!

Happy Holidays!

Run Wollongong, Annaliesa Rose
Run Wollongong, Annaliesa Rose

Run Wollongong

20th October 2014

Run Wollongong hosted an event of 12K & 6K run and 6K walk

So, yesterday, Sunday 19th October 2014 I participated in the 6K Walk (however did run a lot of the way also) and my partner Greg ran the 12K run doing very well overall.

I am used to walking long distances however it is far different walking/running on the road that is bumpy while wearing the five finger shoes you feel everything and my feet were aching. Then my legs were sore awhile afterwards and this morning I'm feeling sore and old, hahaha.

It was a good day as they started at 7:30 for the first run and my walk started just after 8am, what it meant was that it was cold when we started but by the end it was warm and an hour later it was 30+ I'm sure it was a very hot day. So it was great that we started when we did.

I really think that I could have done the 6k run and just walked part of the way because even if I came last I would've started earlier and possibly been pushed by those around me to keep up the pace. Next time :-)

The facebook page for the event is as follows and I am in the photo however I didn't know they were taking it, hahaha so I have my blue full rim hat on and a look on my face like 'oh the sun is bright (even though I have sun glasses on) and I can't see'.

https://www.facebook.com/runwollongong?fref=ts

My only criticism of the event and I say this because it happens with every function and event all around the place is the need for people stationed at recycling and garbage bins to sort properly before things go in the bins, and the cups and bottles (PLASTIC) being given out instead of having an incentive to bring your own water bottles for refills or even supplying a logo provided water bottle for re-use.

WE as a species need to stop using plastic as much as possible, especially one-time-use plastic.

OK, so, getting off the soap box before I slip, it was a great day and a great event (other than the plastic issue) and they raised nearly AUD$150,000 for the Wollongong Children's Ward to be upgraded. There were over 3,000 people who participated, however in a city with just under 300,000 we should try to make at least the 6K walk gain more attendees for next year.

Remembering Kerrie Biddell, Annaliesa Rose

Remembering Kerrie Biddell

16th September 2014

Kerrie Biddell was an amazingly brilliant talented singer and teacher, Rest In Peace knowing you were loved and respected.

On the 5th of September 2014 news was reported that Kerrie Biddell, 'The first lady of Australian jazz' (ref. link below) had passed away. Kerrie was such an amazing person; strong headed, fearless, stubborn, and above all brilliant at everything she put her mind to. I am writing a piece to share my experiences with this stunning singer and excellent teacher. Rest In Peace Kerrie Biddell.

see:

http://www.smh.com.au/comment/obituaries/kerrie-biddell-the-first-lady-of-australian-jazz-20140909-10eaff.html

Remembering Kerrie Biddell: A Well Loved Person

In 2000 at the end of year 11 (starting year 12) my extention music teacher and tutor told me I needed to do Jazz for the HSC to contrast with the classical songs. She said, 'see if you can find out how you can have lessons from Kerrie Biddell' and it is amazing how when you put a thought out into the cosmos the stars have a way of aligning and making what you have put out there a reality. I started an improvisation for singers course at Sydney Conservatorium at the beginning of 2001 and met someone who is still my friend today who learnt from Kerrie and gave me her number.

I started learning from her and was her youngest student but was very very dedicated. I memorised songs, learned the root notes, guide tones, made up and memorised solos and did my best with everything she gave me. I would learn from her until I started my BMus in Jazz in Canberra, having my last lesson with her in 2004.

She was amazing. She would give me music on cassettes, backings to practise, and her singing on the backing to learn the songs. She also would sing each of the root note and guide tone patterns.

She not only made me a better singer but a better person. I loved her and idolised her so much, and yet I had no idea of her extensive fame and history. To me she was just such an amazing person. She was not only brilliant at singing, scatting and telling the story (the acting side of singing which is very important) but I would remember her walking over to her upright piano and even though her arthritis was so bad, she would play piano for me, pointing out chords, harmonies, melodies and the like, and I remember being amazed at how she did this when it looked like it would be so painful.

It was through her that she exposed me to many different artists that I had not heard before including; Take 6, Donny Hathaway, James Taylor, Patti Austin, Jo Dee Messina, Dave Grusin, Dave Frishberg, and many others, all of which were from very different musical styles.

Another thing she taught me was how to script my patter between songs. When I did the 2002 Sydney Cabaret Convention in the Sydney Townhall (which by the way was filmed by some random audience member and I would love a copy if they hear me through the cosmos) she helped me script what to say, because you don't just um and ahh you plan everything so nothing goes wrong and I have always stuck to that philosophy with my singing.

My one regret is not really keeping in touch with her after doing my degree. I always hoped to go see her, have some more lessons, catch up someday soon - but someday soon would never come.

She touched my life in the most profound way, sharing her love for music with me, giving me opportunities to challenge myself and my ability as a performer. She was Australia's best female vocalist in my opinion and I am not alone in this, she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

God bless and 'Keep the Music Playing'

Fundraiser for Darren Buczma, Annaliesa Rose

Fundraiser for Darren Buczma

17th August 2014

Sunday 10th Aug 2014 Mick and Pat Berghuis organised a fundraiser for a near and dear friend of ours who is struggling with health issues. We all together managed to raise quite a bit of money and we just hope he will be alright.

As you may have been aware, at the Corrimal Palm Court Hotel on Sunday 10th August between 12pm and 6pm Mick and Pat Berghuis organised the fundraiser for Darren Buczma. It went really well. There were many people there, lots of different bands, and it was a great day. I think that Darrent was surprised at the turn out in support for him.

He is an amazing Guitarist and Bassist and a really lovely guy. My prayers and love goes out to Darren Buczma and his family and I hope that today really helped not only to raise a great deal of money but also to show how we have the ability to come together and show how compassionate we can truly be.

I won a clarinet in the silent auctions. It is really fascinating. It is a Buescher made in the USA. And when I was looking up the history it was made some time btwn 1910-1920 so it is very old and made before China took over manufacturing so is very good quality. I feel so blessed at finally after all this time being able to afford a clarinet that is like this. I should learn properly. It's been so many years since I played I hardly remember anything. lol. before I started Alto.

YouTube Video: Malamute is Happy

1st June 2014

Very cute video indeed; everyone should be happy!

After Montana had been washed and was mostly dry she was relaxing and so I decided to video her while singing the chorus of "Happy" (Pharrell Williams cover of chorus). Every time I ask her if she is happy she either wags her tail at me or howls this high pitched happy howl (like seen in the clip). I hope you enjoy this, it is not supposed to be the best singing, it is me without special fx or microphone or backing having a good time with a very cute little (56kg) dog.

Rest In Peace Fuzzy Kirkwood

25th April 2014

A very well loved son, pack member, best friend, and little leader to fellow pooches was let to rest at the vets after not being able to move after having a stroke.

The story starts back on the 15th of December 1995 when we were building the extension onto our house, I was in the final day of year 6 of primary school all set to have my 13th birthday party the next day (as my birthday is sooooo close to Christmas - 21/12 - I wanted everyone to come). This little scrawny, flea ridden, matted ball of fluff who was very emaciated came through our closed gate and I put him out again thinking he would go home but each time I put him out he would walk right back in.

After school that day, I came home hoping and praying that this little fluff ball (who would be later called Fuzzy) would still be there, as  I threatened my parents that he was not going to the pound because he would be euthanised or worse. To my delight, he was there and welcomed my open arms.

That next day, Mum and I gave him a thorough bath and clipped all his hair off to get rid of the fleas and matts. He loved the bowl of chicken he had received the previous night, and I was to fatten him up to his rightful size from 3.5kgs to 6.6Kgs.

There were times when he would run away because he didn't know that he was meant to be here, especially in storms, he was very weary of people and fast to get away from dogs as well, but we had a special connection that would last forever. After a while he stopped running away, realising that his place was with us, and we went for walks every day, he always loved his walks. He also loved his food too but never over ate, just ate what he needed and then would stop.

We think that he was about 2years old when he came our way because he was so street smart. He always looked right and then left before crossing the road, he always was cautious around cars and was never a yappy little dog.

I would always get offended when people would be bias about smaller dogs, it's like being discriminatory of short humans or tall humans and placing a stigma on them. He was never yappy, never aggressive, simply a divine little helper. He was and will always be the best dog in my entire universe. My son, my baby, my knight in shining armour, my fuzzicles, the fuzz meister, my best friend and a member of my pack.

The weirdest thing though was that on Tuesday the 15th of April it was our 18year 5month anniversary of him coming into our lives. He is and  will be sorely missed even though he will always be a ghost wafting around in the cosmos.

"I will love you forever and forever love you with all my heart,

love you whenever we're together,

love you when we're apart".

The urn with his ashes arrived to us on the following Tuesday (22nd April 2014) which is beautifully crafted from Pets at Peace in Wollongong.
